Celebrating the Inaugural Orleans Technical College Practical Nursing Graduates

“As we step into the world as nurses, remember you are ready.”

These were sentiments Jahiyah A. shared with her fellow classmates during Orleans Technical College’s first ever Practical Nursing pinning ceremony.

“You have the heart, the skill, and the resilience to handle anything that comes your way” Jahiyah said. “Do not doubt yourself, the same determination that got you through this year will carry you through your career.”

The pinning ceremony was attended by proud family members and friends of the 13 graduates. This important nursing tradition marks the end of their nursing academic journey and the beginning of their nursing career. The students spent the past 52 weeks training not only in the classroom, but also in our onsite lab, and clinicals with our various employer partners.

“Orleans has a 50-year history of preparing people for meaningful careers. You now join that proud legacy—of learners who become leaders, of students who become essential members of their communities,” shared, Cynthia Figueroa, JEVS President and CEO.

The graduates are now preparing to take their licensing exams and fill vital roles within medical facilities throughout the Greater Philadelphia area.
