Orleans Technical College, a program of JEVS Human Services, Announces New Healthcare Training Courses

Philadelphia, PA (March 11th, 2024)– Orleans Technical College, a program of JEVS Human Services, has announced two new healthcare training courses, Clinical Medical Assistant and Practical Nursing. Both courses will be held on campus, can be completed in under a year, and combine classroom education and laboratory experience.

Orleans Technical College’s Clinical Medical Assistant program is a 25-week program and 5-week externship with one of our several employer partners, including Penn Medicine, Jefferson Einstein, and Temple Health. During their on-campus education, students will become certified in phlebotomy, EKG, and CPR.

The Practical Nursing program combines classroom instruction, practical labs, and clinical experiences related to practical nursing competencies. Upon completion of the college’s nursing program, graduates will be eligible to apply to the PA State Board of Nursing to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nursing (NCLEX-PN).

Both Orleans Technical College’s new healthcare offerings will provide training for Philadelphians to enter the workforce and provide in-demand medical services in a variety of settings. Graduates of these programs will work in essential settings throughout the city, including doctor’s offices, hospitals, nursing homes, schools, and clinics.
