Orleans Technical College Hosts Annual Job Fair Featuring Health Trades and Building Trades
Orleans Technical College (OTC), a program of JEVS Human Services (JEVS), hosted its annual job fair focused on healthcare and building trades job opportunities at its Northeast Philadelphia campus. With more than 40 employers and over 100 job seekers attending the event, the job fair was a success in connecting Philadelphia job seekers, alumni, and students with in-demand jobs.
The event was made possible through generous grant funding from the City of Philadelphia Department of Commerce, whose collaboration with OTC helps to expand our reach in the local workforce and within City departments.
“This hiring fair is a true reflection of JEVS and Orleans Technical College’s mission to connect individuals with meaningful job opportunities,” said Waleska Maldonado, Chief Program Officer. “Events like this open doors to sustainable career pathways for in-demand trades and healthcare careers. We’re proud to be part of a solution that drives economic mobility for Philadelphia residents.”
With the need for skilled trades professionals and the desire to join an “AI-proof” industry rapidly growing, bridging the gap between employers and qualified candidates is more important than ever. “The future workforce is being built at JEVS and Orleans Technical College. We are seeing it in our classrooms, training labs, apprenticeship pathways, and through our employer partnerships, shared, Janet Eickhoff, Senior Vice President of Career and Technical Education, JEVS Human Services.
Orleans Technical College is training tomorrow’s workforce through programs including Air Conditioning Refrigeration & Heating, Building Maintenance, Carpentry, Plumbing & Heating, Residential & Commercial Electricity, Associate Degree in Construction Management, Clinical Medical Assistant, and Practical Nursing.
