Regular home maintenance is one of the best things you can do to ensure everything in your home runs smoothly and avoid surprises. With the warmer weather approaching, spring is the perfect time to get your house in shape. 

Orleans Technical College compiled a spring home maintenance checklist to make your process easier.

  • Replace air filters in your HVAC system 
  • Check that your sump pump is working correctly 
  • Clean window screens and check for damage 
  • Check smoke and carbon monoxide detectors 
  • Inspect gutters and remove debris 
  • Check caulking around doors and windows for damage 
  • Inspect foundation for cracks or other damage 
  • Inspect roof for damages, missing shingles, or leaks
