As a school counselor, your goal is to help students find a post-secondary education option that offers the best match. We’d like to help you get to know Orleans Technical College. We are a non-profit, career and technical education institution that has been offering opportunities for career success since 1974. We welcome you to explore us as an option for students to further their education in the following ways:
Schedule a Tour: We are happy to host you and a group of your students to experience our campus. Meet our Admissions team, tour our facility, and visit our hands-on skills training classrooms to see our students in action.
Arrange an Information Session (in-person or virtual): A member of our Admissions team can come to your school or present remotely via videoconference to talk to classes about career training in the fields we offer, or to participate in your College/Career Fair event.
Request Materials: Need printed copies of our school catalog, promotional flyers, and fact sheets about our training programs? You may also join our e-mail mailing list to receive updates about Open House and Financial Aid events for your students and their families.
Career Exploration Program: We are now contracting with high schools to provide their students with an afterschool program where they learn basic skills in building and construction trades. *This program does not fall within the scope of ACCSC accreditation.
Refer a Student: Do have a student in mind who would make an ideal candidate for Orleans’ career training programs? Fill out our Referral Form, and we will contact the student (or a parent) with more information.

For High School Students
It’s not too early to begin your after-graduation plans! Orleans Technical College provides opportunities for graduating seniors to take the next step in their educational journeys. Orleans offers career/technical training in the following areas:
- Building Trades: incoming students can choose from one of five training programs, earn a career diploma in that trade, gain technical skills in our well-equipped shops, and learn from instructors who’ve worked in the trades; full-time programs take 6 months to complete, while part-time, evening programs take 13 months to complete
Why Choose a Technical School?
While community colleges and 4-year colleges offer a well-rounded education in a variety of majors, recent high school grads can choose to gain hands-on, practical training in a particular field at a career/technical school like Orleans Technical College. At Orleans, our students gain “real-world” skills that employers are looking for so that once an individual is hired, little on-the-job training is necessary. Our short-term training programs make it possible to enter the workforce quickly and start building on your career at a young age.
