Employer Partnership Awards
Orleans Technical College and its parent organization, JEVS Human Services, awarded the following honors at “Strictly Business,” an annual event that raises funds that provide scholarships to students attending Orleans Technical College. The awards honor local business partners that hire graduates from Orleans.
2021 – Horizon Services
Hiring nearly 60 Air Conditioning, Refrigeration & Heating graduates from Orleans Technical College over the last five years, Horizon Services has been an exemplary employer partner. When the world was shutting down due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Horizon was making a commitment not only to its current employees, but to keeping the economy moving and hiring even more. With a headquarters office in Audubon, Pa., Horizon is one of the largest and most referred home services companies in the United States, specializing in heating, air conditioning, plumbing, drain cleaning, and electrical repair. Horizon Services looks to Orleans Tech as a preferred source of qualified and motivated employees, even offering to come in for presentations to classes of students and on-the-spot interviews. They even report that some of the Orleans Tech grads who began working 5 years ago at the age of 25-27 are now making $100K plus! The job retention of Orleans grads sits above 85%, and several have already been promoted to senior positions. Horizon is truly bettering the communities in which they serve.

2014 – Allan A. Myers, a company of American Infrastructure
Allan A. Myers, a company of American Infrastructure, is a family-owned, heavy civil construction company and supplier headquartered in Worcester, Pa., who has been hiring from JEVS’ Orleans Technical College for the past three years. The company places great value on the continuing education and training of its employees, and offers competitive wages and benefits. Allan A. Myers works with Orleans Tech employment specialists to screen and select the most qualified candidates from Orleans’ building trades training programs and conducts on-campus interviews for the prospective hires. They also have a history of hiring non-traditional employees and helping all of its workers succeed through a supportive peer mentorship program, as well as opportunities for career advancement. Allan A. Myers values creative and collaborative thinking and strives to be the kind of company where “people are continually learning to see the whole together.”
2012 – CableNet Services, Inc.
CableNet Services is a cable installation contractor that has worked closely with JEVS’ Orleans Technical College for two years. During this time, they have hired almost 30 Orleans graduates as cable installation technicians. CableNet Services conducts a comprehensive employee training program that emphasizes safety and assigns a mentor to new technicians. Technicians are compensated for each installation completed and are offered the opportunity to increase their pay after just three months on the job, when their first review takes place, creating a work environment where motivated employees thrive.
2010 – First Judicial District of Pennsylvania, Court Reporter Administration
The First Judicial District of Pennsylvania, Court Reporter Administration was selected to receive the Business Leadership Award because of its 20+ year hiring relationship with the Court Reporting Program at JEVS’ Orleans Technical College. In addition, the court system provides Orleans’ students with internship opportunities. They’ve also developed an in-depth trainee program—offering Orleans grads a “fast track” into lucrative official court reporting positions—that allows new graduates hires to bypass the RPR (Registered Professional Reporter) certification and two-year work experience requirement.
2009 – Philadelphia Coca-Cola Bottling Company
The Philadelphia Coca-Cola Bottling Company was selected to receive the Business Leadership Award based on their nearly five-year relationship with JEVS’ Orleans Technical College, hiring students from the school’s electrical and air conditioning, refrigeration and heating programs. Philly Coke has also donated several vending machines to Orleans Tech so that trades students can learn on up-to-date equipment. This regional bottler and distributor of Coca-Cola products distributes more than 60 million units of beverages annually.
2008 – Atlas Heating and Cooling, Inc.
Atlas Heating and Cooling, Inc. was chosen to receive the Business Leadership Award because of their commitment to supporting the vocational and personal success of its employees and its nearly decade-long hiring partnership with JEVS’ career training school, Orleans Technical College. Headquartered in Feasterville, Pa., Atlas has hired dozens of students from Orleans’ air conditioning, refrigeration and heating program.
2007 – David Brandolph Electric Co.
David Brandolph Electric Co. received this award because of their commitment to supporting the vocational and personal success of its employees and its decade-long recruitment and hiring relationship with Orleans Technical College. Brandolph Electric is active on the school’s Employer Advisory Committee, sharing technical expertise and years of experience to ensure that Orleans graduates are well-prepared to work in the industry. Brandolph Electric is a family-owned and operated, licensed electrical contractor specializing in commercial electrical work.
2006 – SEPTA
received this award for its strong partnership with Orleans Technical College. SEPTA’s recruiters attend the school’s Employer Advisory Committee meetings and collaborate closely with the school to ensure that students receive the technical skills needed for success in the workplace. Once employed by SEPTA, Orleans graduates benefit from the company’s commitment to ensuring the personal and vocational success of its employees through its exemplary workplace practices.
2005 – Honeywell
The Marlton, NJ, office of Honeywell received this award because of its 10-year partnership with Orleans Technical College to facilitate hiring and retention of more than 30 graduates of the school. Honeywell is also an active partner with Orleans Tech staff in ensuring that training reflects current employer and industry standards by serving as a member of the school’s Employer Advisory Council. The company is a nationwide provider of services to utility companies’ customers.
